Preschool

• Classes are held at Kaposia Education Center and Lincoln Center Elementary.
• Children must be 3 years old by September 1 of the school year for which they will be enrolled.
• Children must be fully toilet trained and independent in the bathroom in order to attend preschool.
• A limited number of scholarships are available for 3-year-old preschool, and a sliding fee scale is also in place. Please call 651-457-9418 if you have questions.

• Children must be fully toilet trained and independent in the bathroom in order to attend preschool.

Eligibility for FREE Preschool

You are eligible for free 4-year-old preschool if you or your child meet any one of these criteria:

Department of Education Criteria

• Your family qualifies for free or reduced-price meals.
• Your family meets financial eligibility requirements.
• Your child qualifies for English language learner services.
• Your child is American Indian.
• Your family has experienced homelessness in the last 24 months.
• Through health and developmental screening, your child is identified as having a potential risk factor that may impact their learning.
• Your child is in foster care, kinship care or is in need of child protection services.
• One of your child's parents is a migrant or seasonal agricultural laborer.
• One of your child's parents is incarcerated.
• Your child is referred to or is eligible for special education.
• Eligibility as determined by the district

Students may enroll for 4-year-old preschool for a fee if they do not meet eligibility requirements, and a sliding scale is available. Most families qualify for free preschool. Please email earlylearning@sspps.org if you have eligibility questions or for more information.
