Preschool

South St. Paul offers excellent preschool programs for children ages 3 years to kindergarten enrollment.

Our teachers strive to promote children’s love of learning and curiosity through an intentionally planned “hands-on” learning environment, designed to foster the development of the whole child. Young children learn best through active involvement, in order to learn about themselves, other people and the world around them.

Our preschool classrooms encourage active exploration, investigation and play in a variety of learning centers, plus individual, small and large group activities. Children are guided to question, solve problems and express themselves. Teachers respect and understand the uniqueness of each child.

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten is a program with the purpose of preparing more Minnesota children for success as they enter kindergarten the following year. Four-Year-Olds at Kaposia and Lincoln Center can now attend preschool for FREE!

The Minnesota Department of Education has developed a rating tool for families to select high quality child care and early education settings called Parent Aware. South St. Paul Community Preschool is excited and proud to announce their FOUR STAR rating, the highest rating you can obtain!

Preschool

3 YEAR OLD PRESCHOOL

3 Year Old Preschool is for children who are age 3 on or before September 1.

The program is focused on having a school experience to build social skills, self-help and problem solving, gross and fine motor skills, and early literacy and math. Classes engage young learners in hands-on learning experiences. The daily schedule allows a mix of large and small group activities, with a focus on social interaction, individual exploration, creativity, and inquiry.

Children must be fully toilet trained and independent in the bathroom in order to attend preschool.

4 YEAR OLD PRESCHOOL

4 Year Old Preschool is for children who are age 4 on or before September 1.

The program offers ample school time prior to kindergarten, and is designed for children who have had some social experiences with peers. These classes focus on direct social skills instruction, self-regulation skills, gross and fine motor skills and direct teaching of early literacy and math skills. Classes exploring concepts using hands-on learning activities. The daily schedule allows a mix of large and small group activities, social interaction, turn taking, solving problems, and practicing school routines.

Children must be fully toilet trained and independent in the bathroom in order to attend preschool.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Community Preschool is a fee-based program - School Readiness funding from the State of Minnesota allows School Districts to provide limited financial assistance in our preschool programs.

Families must provide proof of income and meet one or more of the following eligibility requirements:

Qualifies for free or reduced-price school lunch
Children who are English Language Learners
Children who are homeless or in foster care
Qualifies for Early Childhood Special Education
Identified through Early Childhood Screening with a potential risk factor that may influence learning

HOW DO I MAKE TUITION PAYMENTS?

The Community Preschool Office will send out invoices each month to the email address on file.

Go to tridistrict.ce.eleyo.com and click Sign In or Your Account.
- If you do not know your password, request a reset password online or call the Community Preschool Office at 651-457-9418
The "Your Invoices" section of the dashboard will contain any current invoices (including any past due balances).
Click the invoice to display the invoice screen.
Click Make a Payment.
Select to pay the Current Balance Due or Specify Other Amount.
Click Add to Cart.
Click Checkout (you will be brought to the payment screen).
Select how you would like to pay by clicking either Bank Account or Credit/Debit Card.
Enter your payment information and click Create.
Check the box to signify you have agreed to the Terms & Conditions.
Click Pay.

HOW DO I ADD AUTO PAY TO MY ACCOUNT?

Go to tridistrict.ce.eleyo.com and click Sign In or Your Account.
Scroll down to the footer of the page and click Your Dashboard.
Under Your Accounts, select the desired Child Care Account.
Under Auto Payments, click Setup Auto Payments.
Select your desired payment method or click Add Saved Payment Method.
Click Use Selected Payment Method.
Note: if you need to update credit card information or bank routing details, you need to remove the current payment method and enter the information as a new payment method.
